Stabfish.io is a fast-paced, quick-reaction game. Even though this is true, you still need strategy to accompany this. This is a page focusing on the beginner's strategy, which is an easy set of tips for everyone to use.

Starting the Game[]

When the player starts, immediately begin killing. Get kill streaks and chain bonuses, if possible. Try to avoid the tusk of other fish, and eat stray food/meat.

Score "Multipliers"[]

Chain Bonuses[]

Target enemies with the same team colour (the ring around them shows the team colour). The lower tier of a weapon, the less kills required to get a chain bonus, so weapons with a higher tier take more fish for a chain bonus than a lower tier. If a player is mainly playing for the chain bonuses and/or desire to kill a specific team colour off, it is easiest to begin the game with that intention. Since there is no way to cause point deduction within a game, utilize the shortness of the weapon in the beginning.

Kill Streaks[]

Going on a kill streak acts as a way to multiply a new player's score in their current game significantly. The more foes they cause the death of, the more kills are put to the player's name--however, killing multiple in rapid succession creates a kill streak, where each kill grants the player more points than the previous. Kill-based points are stacked, meaning that killing one player and getting points from them is not replaced by the next kill's score.

Score-Boosting Random Events[]

Using score-boosting (food score increase and kill score increase) random events to their full potential by eating food or killing more players in the given time frame, respectively, is essential to the player's score growth within the current game.

Random Events[]

Using random events properly is key to the long-term survival of the player's controlled entity within games. The probability of achieving any specific random event is unknown. Also, the algorithm(s) used by the game's development to determine when the player is to get a random event effect is also unknown. Here is the current known data relating to random events:

Random Event Data
Name of Event Duration of Event Event Effect Positivity/Negativity
Kill Streak Score 1.5x ???s Increases kill streak score by 50%. Positive
Kill Score 1.5x ???s Increases kill score by 50%. Positive
Weapon Size +50% ???s Increases weapon size by 50%. Positive
Weapon Size -50% ???s Decreases weapon size by 50%. Negative
Unlimited Boost ???s For the duration of the event, the boost ability can be used without causing detriment to the fuel bar. Positive
No-Stab Shield ???s For the duration of the event, the player cannot be stabbed by an enemy's weapon. Positive
Body Size +50% ???s Increases body size by 50%. Negative
Body Size -50% ???s Decreases body size by 50%. Positive
Bounty Hunting ???s Allows player to target the player with the most points in the game OR the player with the second-most points in the game, awarding 2,000 extra points for killing them. Positive
Wanted ???s Allows player to be bounty-hunted by all enemy players in the game for the duration of the event. Wanted players will reward 2,000 extra kill points to any player that kills them, so you will be more sought after. Negative

When Not To Move[]

To not move the entity the player is controlling, simply move the cursor to this entity itself, which is fixed at the center of the game screen. There are several times to stop and avoid movement for the benefit of the player:

  • They are playing with a skin from the [[Pufferfish]] family and are "boosting in place" (waiting for a "spike kill" to occur).
  • They are encountering a negative Random Event.
